What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a treatment that improves wrinkles, skin texture and pigmentation by physically removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it more supple and vibrant. Microdermabrasion also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the surface of the skin resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance.

20/20 Skin Day Spa offers NewApeel MicroExfoliation, a crystal-free microdermabrasion system. There are no messy, painful loose crystals to breathe in or left on your skin. A sterile diamond-tipped DiamondTome vacuum wand is gently drawn across the area to be treated. There is no downtime associated with this type of Microdermabrasion. In fact, your skin will feel nourished and refreshed immediately following the treatment.

Contraindications

  • Avoid waxing, collagen injections and BOTOX® injections for 10-14 days before and after microdermabrasion.
  • Avoid Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Glycolic Acids, Retin-A, Renova, Benzoyl Peroxide, lightening products containing Hydroquinone, or any strong exfoliating products for approximately 1 week before and after microdermabrasion. These products tend to make your skin ultra-sensitive.
  • Sunscreen is a must after any Microdermabrasion and/or Peel treatment. Because your skin is being exfoliated, it is more vulnerable to the effects of the sun. Daily use of SPF 30 is recommended.
